They water down their alcohol, which became painfully (and on some level hilarious) after I ordered the exact same black on the rocks at another bar later that night. I guess they can get away with it with their usual college age clientele...who knows! Honestly, I'm shocked this place is still open.

Even though this is a perfectly fun bar, after my experience last night (which resulted in an expensive and needless injury) I really wish I could give zero stars for negligence. We arrived early and the bar was nearly empty so we set up by the pool table. After playing for about an hour, I attempted a shot and a piece of one of their pool sticks cut open my hand. Upon closer inspection, this particular pool stick had splintered and broken and been taped back together. Instead of buying another stick, or just getting rid of it, they LEFT OUT THIS JAGGED, CRACKED PIECE OF WOOD for their patrons TO PLAY WITH. I really don't understand this. It's obviously stupid and dangerous (I'm writing this as I sit in an urgent care I paid $100 to be seen in, waiting to see if I'll need stitches). I'd love to meet the genius who taped this shit back together. Really, way to go. I get that you're sort of a dive bar. But you have a responsibility to, at a bare minimum, keep your establishment safe for everyone drinking/dining/playing there. And you failed. Update: my friends informed me that after I took the pool stick up to the bar and let them know what happened so they could dispose of it, they just put more tape on it and put it back. I can't even explain how outraged I am by this place, their total disregard for their patrons, and the complete ineptitude of their staff.

Good place, good vibes, a bit of a dive bar but man the food was good and big portions. Skip the normal bar fare and go for the Irish, it's better made (not the freezer bag stuff the bar food is)

It was a decent little bar. The ambiance was chill and the bartenders seemed halfway decent. I had the coldest yuengling in South Florida here (Which I greatly appreciate). They had a small food menu but I confess that I didn't try anything simply because I wasn't hungry. It draws a variety of people, some loud and some quiet. If you want to just have a cold beer and drink in quiet, it may not be your best bet but its good spot to pre game. I'll keep coming back.

Beware! I'm an UBER driver and I picked someone up from here and a guy from the bar threw a glass at my car. When I tried to talk to the guy the security from the bar tells me that the guy who threw the glass was his brother and then asked to step aside that he wanted to talk to me. Allowing the supposed brother to get away. When the cops show up the security says that he never said that and that he doesn't know who that guy was. So now if I was you I wouldn't want to go to a bar with a bunch of drunks when the security is shady and the bar won't let the cops see the video from the cameras.

Nice Irish theme. The entire restaurant was donned in Irish art and music. While visiting the South Miami Art Festival, we decided to stop in here to have a couple of beers and food. It was abnormally hot outside and I was famished from all the walking and the heat. The staff welcomed us and advised us to sit anywhere we liked. Luckily it wasn't too crowded in there despite the big art festival going on outside. We ordered a couple of beers, and I ordered the cheeseburger and onion sliders, while my husband ordered the home-style mac and cheese (appetizer). The burgers were incredibly delicious; the meat was fresh and cooked to perfection. They even grilled the bread on the skillet to give it that nice toasty crunch that mixes oh so nicely with the beef and cheese. The mac and cheese was doused in panko bread crumbs and herbs. There was one big big problem however: How many of you expect Kraft mac and cheese (velveeta cheese to be specific) to be served at an authentic Irish pub? Yeah I didn't think so, me neither. Well that is what we were served here. It was without a doubt boxed mac and cheese from let's say Costco (only because restaurants buy wholesale). I highly doubt the Irish Times is fooling anyone with that one. I personally think the business is severely hurting themselves by serving that mac and cheese. You could do so much better!! May I suggest using Publix brand mac and cheese noodles, and white cheddar and cream cheese with the panko bread crumbs? It would be soooo much better.

Still ticking. Remember this place waaayyyy back when. What's to say? Irish pub in Miami. Food is decent and full bar and drafts on tap. I watched the 2010 World Cup here and my "lucky spot" got the USMNT past Algeria. That Donovan goal was epic. 'Nuff said.

Came here on a Saturday for a late lunch. The beer selection is acceptable. They were out of corned beef & cabbage but could make the corned beef sliders so that's what I got. (Sidenote: they were out of cabbage and thus couldn't make a signature Irish dish. There's a Winn Dixie like a block away, so it really shouldn't have been too difficult to remedy the cabbage deficiency). The sliders were, charitably, okay. Not the best corned beef I've had. The computer system was down (it happens), but it was still kind of annoying to have to go across the street to get cash. Finally, given that it was August, the indoor climate control could have been significantly cooler. On the plus side, the pub fries were quite good, and the bathroom was clean. I figured to give this place a chance, which I did. The verdict: not likely to come back.

I had some of their chicken sliders which were ahhhmazingly good. I expected the portion to be smaller and the fries were also yummy & super thick. Buuut I am knocking off some stars cause the beer they gave me was stale =/ Might come back here and try another drink, but as a bar I would have expected them to be better stocked and not have given me an old drink.

Worst service ever!!!! That's all I have to say.... Owen is the shittiest bartender of life..... I will never ever come back here because of how badly I was treated ... I would've given zero stars but yelp won't let me

I'm pretty sure the only waitress they have is mentally handicapped because she would rather spend time playing with a rubber band gun than pay attention to her customers. It's never felt so good not to tip. Enjoy your $4 an hour.

Another thing Florida doesn't quite sell: Irish bars. Maybe it goes with the beer bar territory--South Floridians just don't dig. Maybe it's the carbs (actually, it's for sure the carbs), or the types of bodies that go in for beer. Maybe it's too low brow when you could be, par example, down at South Beach paying $22 for the worst martini you'll ever have. Except on Saint Patrick's Day of course. The food is ok, and the taps are generally maintained. Just drink whatever the bartenders are drinking. And yes, they are drinking. Hilarious: Overheard the (Irish?) bartenders asking each other how to make a Dirty Sanchez shot (it was around Cinco de Mayo). They were both equal parts amused and digusted and laughed with us about it before inventing the shot on the spot and serving it up to their (Fratted Out) victim. We'll be back for a pint before going to the Sunset theater just down the way.

~Sometimes...you wanna go where everybody knows your naaaaaammmmeee~ Irish Times is like Cheers for my friends and I except a thousand times more ratchet, so this 5 star review is a little biased. On weekends, Irish Times turns into Club Irish Times. And there are nights where it gets "turnt". The drinks are "reasonably priced" but definitely not cheap. They're usually really strong though. It closes down at 5AM for all ya ratcheteers out there (or early bird alcoholics). They also serve food until about 4AM which makes my hangry alcoholic heart happy. However, their food is quite terrible (and expensive) and I would not recommend it sober. They have typical bar food--mozzarella sticks and stuff like that. Now in the day time, Irish is a totally different bar. Much more mellow. They even play basketball games and it doesn't get too packed or rowdy. Which I appreciate. I believe Ladies Night is Thursday's and some stuff is freeeeeeeee weeeeeeee. The ambiance is usually chill. Even when it's packed at night and people get rowdy. You don't have to dress up. You can wear whatever, anything goes. It can be a little...sausage festy at times like most places in Miami. Especially at night...so if you're a girl don't go alone (Or I guess if you're into that go for it). You do have to pay for parking which is metered all throughout SOMI!

Quite frankly, the only place in Miami that I would undoubtedly trust to pour me the perfect Guinness, proper glassware and all. One of Miami's best spots.

I stop in on Irish Times whenever I'm in the area as it is a pretty legitimate pub-style bar. The lighting is low, the beer flows like wine (brownie points if you get the reference), and the employees, be it the bartenders or the Danny Trejo-looking bouncer (really, really cool dude), are down to earth and totally affable. What I love most are the quotes scribbled on the walls, mainly those by Oscar Wilde. I'm a HUGE Oscar Wilde fan, so being able to look up between drinks and be reminded of his largely unmatched sardonic voice, one that he so expertly used to convey a complexity that proves so ubiquitous in the human condition, is a very nice touch. Still, though... something is lacking. And I think I know what it is. The walls are painted yellow, and the painter added in some faux cracks to add in a sort of contrived wear and tear that you hope to see in a dive bar. What I'm really talking about is character. And really, the place lacks some. You know character when you walk into a joint and see a pool table with worn down pool cues or the kind of staff that has decades worth of stories to tell or the kind of adornments that take you back --- I mean really transport you --- to another era, the kind that you might see at a garage sale or secondhand store. I'm talking about tchotchkes and knickknacks that really are old instead of being manipulated to look that way. I don't know. Maybe I'm asking for a bit much. Maybe it's crazy to want the cracks in the wall to be real. But isn't that part of the charm of any given place? Isn't half of the experience looking at someone or something and wondering how it got its scars? I'm reminded of a quote from "Fight Club" (the book, not the movie): "I just don't want to die without a few scars, I say. It's nothing anymore to have a beautiful stock body. You see those cars that are completely stock cherry, right out of a dealer's showroom in 1955, I always think, what a waste." The human condition shouldn't be about plastic surgery or perfection. It should be about the journey toward the acceptance of imperfection that we all have to undertake. Maybe what this place needs is a few more years under its belt. You know, years that might allow for duct tape to be used to "spruce something up" in a pinch or for a mirror to crack and never be replaced or for something to actually look a little aged and refined. Still, though... It's a good place to stop in for a drink. You never really have to worry about excessive waits or bumper-to-bumper foot traffic, and the drinks flow readily. I'd just love to see it a few years down the road after having faced some adversity and trudged along in spite of it.

I go during happy hour and they say no happy hour then I order a beer anyways- specifically blue moon and they give me another beer and try to pass it off as a blue moon! So disappointed I would put no stars if I could what a bad experience- also waiter was incredible rude.

I was going through my bank statement when I realized I had been overcharged by The Irish TImes. I double checked the receipt and sure enough employee "Chan" felt the need to add extra tip. Luckily I was able to dispute the charge and resolve it with my bank. Don't expect much from this place. I'd take my ANY of the other businesses in the area!

I'll never come back here again. Our server was absent, it was a struggle to get anything done. It took an hour to find the server to get the check. And among 5 of us, the bill was $200. I tipped appropriately, and I have no control over what anyone else tips. She pulls me aside to ask me to talk to my friends to change their tips. They don't, so she proceeds to scold them. I walk up and tell her she has no place to tell them how to judge her service. She was barely there. And we were hounded to tip better?! Yeahno. Sorry girl. You just cost your boss money. Plenty of other places that won't treat you like shit in this area. She was uncomfortably confrontational and if my card info gets charged more than $60.90, I'll know it was her. I gave her $10 tip just to be decent, but she certainly didn't earn that.

My five stars is admittedly predicated on the fact that I was in the presence of two divas; Gina and the WIne Goddess as well as Danielle and Dom. Met Steve & Ana (who taught me to proudly ask for a Black Bush and I did - smooooooth!) and loved my potato skins, traditional fish & chips served as sliders (three yummy crunchy li'l delights) and great stories told by bartendress Jo Mathers - she is a treat (and a darn good artist too, Jo is proudly responsible for some of the sayings and stencils you'll see that decorate the bar)! A really great vibe that made me appreciate South Miami and realize that being carless, I am deprived at times of some of Miamii's quieter friendlier 'hoods. I'll be back!

My first visit here was just mediocre. I ordered the sampler platter and the mac & cheese. The sampler was okay, the m&c was not edible, at a table of 7 and no one would eat it. Ordered a couple shots which did not taste as they should and beer is beer. Our waitress also seemed to be overwhelmed as she was the only one serving the floor. So the service was slow even though she was very pleasant. So overall... Meh...

I've been here so many times and have forgotten to review this place. A unique location in South Miami where you can easily stumble in and stumble out. The drinks are reasonably priced, the crowd is good and the DJ rocks!

This is going to be one of my short and sweet reviews. Why? There really isn't much to review for my visit. I went for a round of drinks with a friend and also ordered the potato skins. The area was dark as dark can get. Dark furniture, dark wall colors. Just plain dark. The potato skins had some very poor excuse for bacon on them. I am not saying Irish Times is bad; it just doesn't feel Irish. It feels more of a dive bar than an Irish Pub. Bottom Line: Meh.

Eleven PM. and we have not had dinner yet. We wanted some place casual, yet fun, so we came here. The very cool looking bouncer greeted us at the door, smiled and said "please sit anywhere". The place was hopping with people everywhere all having a great time. Our waitress came over and she was simply amazing! Her name was Katy, she was fun, attentive, friendly, and bubbly. She came over to take our drink order. Immediately our Carlsberg beer arrived and we all started to feel better. Daughter and I both ordered the sliders, they sounded exactly like what we needed. They came out so quickly. Katy asked if we wanted another beer way before our glasses were empty. Oh, sliders have never tasted so good. First they ask you how you would like them cooked and both orders came out the way we specified. The meat was of excellent quality. Four little burgers with cheese on them and fries. The fries are delish! We began to eat them not expecting much, but what a great surprise. We loved them. These sliders were so good, hitting the spot. So many places make sliders and they are just inexpensive hamburger meat, normally overcooked and just blah......not these, they were awesome. Had a few beers, listened to the great DJ spinning some cool classic rock. What a perfect ending to our evening, that started out as a disaster. Katy was the absolute best. She was such a great fun waitress, who got you in such a great mood with her effervescent personality. Our daughter loved it and can not wait to go back for some fish and chips....... Thank you, Irish Times for great food and excellent service!

I really hate to see places "go down the crapper" like this. This was a planned stop on the South Miami Pub Crawl. It was way too loud. None of us could hear each other from 2 feet away. The DJ was HORRIBLE.....so not only was the music way too loud, it was loud terrible music.....lowest common denominator dance remixes. To add insult to injury, the loud music was even piped into the restroom - somehow even louder. So while I stood there trying to rid myself of some beer, I had to endure a sonic assault that would have made a captured al-Qaeda fighter capitulate. Compared to all the other South Miami bars, this place was dead. Half full. And it was because of the music. The red "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker is still on the front door, but.......................I think it needs to be stripped, effective immediately.

Delish Burgers! Irish drink selection...Just Right!! Left happy, full, and tipsy. The bartender and chef were friendly and fun to talk to. The vibe here is exactly what I was looking for. Oh and they gave me free credits on the Jukebox...Win!!!

Went there it was great. Not only were the staff nice and helpful they showed personality to each customer. The cook Ralph made the food to die for. And finally it is a great place to hang out watch TV and make some friend with other customers and the staff

Went with some friends here around midnight on a bar crawl and the place was a TOTAL buzz kill. We'd entered in great spirits but left grumbling and frustrated... Someone in the management at the Irish Times missed the memo on what an IRISH bar is supposed to be like. Blasting music at well over 100 decibels is not an enjoyable experience in any realm where the words "Irish" and "bar" are combined. This place is this only in name. First off, I saw in someone else's review that there were beer specials...Not that I ever learned of them. Secondly, our nonexistent and indifferent waitress was nearly impossible to get a hold of and rude to boot. And lastly, the food my friends ordered was late in coming and horribly overcooked. I'm not sure who the management is targeting to attract customers on a Saturday night, but it definitely wasn't me or my friends. We only stuck around as long as we did because the aforementioned overcooked food. Once it arrived and was consumed (out of sheer hunger and not for its quality), we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Funnily enough, while waiting outside for everyone else, I actually saw a few folks walk up to the door, hear the deafening music, and then turn around and walked off.

First of all, the menu has changed. Their Irish fare include fish and chips and Shepherd's pie. The rest of the menu is burgers, which seems to be a trend in restaurants nowadays. They also serve appetizers. I got there wanting to have a Guinness and some fish and chips. The bartender didn't know how to serve Guinness properly and that made the beer a little "flat". The food was fine, the fish was delicious but the fries were hard to chew, which I found strange. They did have vinegar on the table. My companion had the Shepherd's pie and she would not recommend it. It looked runny. Luckily we got there at Happy Hour so we got 2-4-1 draft beer. That made the whole experience a lot better. My bottom line is : I would go back at the same time and have the same. I know the chips are important in "Fish and Chips" but the fish was great and the price was OK. Cheers!

I'm giving it four stars only because I know I ordered the wrong thing, and I really liked the place. Irish Times is that funky little place that open until 5:00 am, and it's not a scummy little bar, where your feet stick to the floor, and where if you put your hands on the counter, your infected with every known disease to man. Irish times is the polar opposite for a 5:00 am bar. Irish times also brings in a good crowd, there wasn't an idiot in the bunch! Now I must have ordered the wrong thing, I got the Kobe Sliders, these were devoid of flavor and were as chewy as rubber, for these I'd say ZERO stars, but everyone else's food seemed ok, why me God, why me. My friend ordered the Corned Beef Sliders, he liked his, I guess I was just infatuated by the name. I still like Irish Times though, it's in a good location, and at 1:00 am, you need a good location, or the luck of the Irish.

I'll give it one more star than my friends, but that's only because I like trance and techno. However, I agree that the mix was not appropriate for the venue since this is an "Irish Bar", not Space. We were able to get a decent table in the corner but the music was loud enough that I was either "eh'ing" what my friends were saying or communicating with them via twitter and text. Also, even clubs turn down the volume in the bathroom. My Guiness tasted a little flat though. To me that's like Versailles messing up a cortadito! Since this was one of our last venues of the night, a bunch of us decided to grab some dinner. Ah, I like my meats well done but I think the burger was overdone to the point I needed Alka Seltzer when I got home. I agree that the fries were thick and tasty, juicy without being overly greasy.

So I left my pub crawl days way back when I used to live in Germany, You can not expect the same quality of beer in some want-to-be average Irish American pub. But I live a few blocks down the street from the Irish Times which makes it easy access on a lonely friday or saturday night. With that said...... The quality of food at the Irish Times is unpredicatble, your best bet is to always be specific or should I say anal about how you want something cooked. For instance I have had a burger and fries several times, but only once were my fries edible! Most of the time they where over cooked and slighty char tasting, so I have to be specific and say "please do not over fry my fries and light salt". You have to come to Irish Times with a f**k-it attitude! Although at first glance Irish Times would seem like a good place to hangout and have cheap drinks. I always think everything cost more than it should, Thats why I go with a F**k-it attitude. I walk over on Fri/Sat night about 1am and purchase a few ciders, sit in the corner of the bar, listen to the dj as hey brings back the eighties mixed in with selective electronic, and hiphop music, all the long i am on my evo playing soduko. The problem with the staff is the ones who have been there the longest spend too much time treating themselves as if they are at home to give you any proper welcome (customer service). Lets face it, if the home town pub is going to treat you like an unwanted stepchild, then I'd rather be the neighboor that you wave, smile to, and offer 10 minutes of pleasent conversation along with a beer every once in a while. Try the shepards pie! but make sure you order it with... 1. thick mashed potatos, (to make sure its not watery) 2. extra beef 3. thick layer of cheese on top

I often end the night at this pub since its one of the few places in its area which stays open until late. The music is good and the bartenders and waiters are friendly. I have never had a bad experience going to this pub and I recommend it if you are in the area and want to grab some drinks. I have never eaten here but all the drinks I have ordered have always been good.

I like the brunch they have with an additional $5 you get either unlimited mimosas or bloody mary's (awesomeeee) We went last night for some drinks and man they still carded hard even at about 3 am (two friends forgot ID's) it was easy enough to sneak them in the back though .. hehee Its a fun place with upbeat music and an energetic crowd, they kicked us all out around 4 but hey BT's was only right around the corner :0)

After only being to the Irish Times once, I was instantly pleased. I'll take you through a play-by-play of my visit. So, it is one in the morning, Thursday night, and my brother just finished working, so he is fiendish for some food. We decide to check out Irish Times. Parking was free at the meters, and easy to find. Upon entering we are greeted by this friendly dude who is dressed real nice. Looks like the owner. He gets us a table, gives us some menus, says if we need anything to come see him. Our waitress instantly arrives and is extremely nice. I'm amazed that it is one in the morning and she doesn't look like she wants to get the hell out of there. After taking our drink order, my brother orders Fish & Chips (a bit expensive, $14.95). I ask for a small basket of fries, which run you about $4. The fries are thick-cut, but very crispy on the outside. They were very fresh, and extremely hot. Good signs of good food. I tried the fish my brother ordered with some tarter sauce, and it was delightful. The beer was nice and cold, and only costs about $5 for a huge pint. Honestly, I can't wait to check this place out again for some Bangers and Mash (Irish sausages with mashed potatoes and baked beans). Since I work until late, I'm usually looking for places that serve good, fresh, food after hours, and this my friends, is one of them for sure. Turns out they are open until 4AM every single day of the week, and serve fresh bar food (???) until that time. Excellent.

It's late, we are hungry so parent's say let's go to "The Irish Times". Beer, good food, sounds good to me. The place was popping when we walked in. The atmosphere reminded me of some cool bars by my school. This place was so much nicer though. The crowd was of mixed age's, the DJ was spinning some great tunes. Our waitress came over and she was so friendly and bubbly. She took our drink order, I was quite happy with my good ole Bud Light. That is actually a step up for me. We can't afford good beer at school so we usually drink Natural Light. We order some beef sliders for a late night dinner. They came out very quickly. Oh how I love me some good sliders. They were the best sliders. The fries were big and so good. We sat eating, drinking and enjoying the good music for some time. I can not wait to visit again soon. Great chill place with excellent food and service. And I must say, they had some good eye candy. See you real soon.

I've always been from the school where one does not order nachos at an Irish pub. However, that rule gets tossed out the window when the Irish pub is located in South Miami. In a city where a large majority of the population is Hispanic, I think it's a safe bet to order any Hispanic dish, regardless of venue. Although the nachos had a bit of a sweet finish, it worked well with a pint of their IPA. The Mac and Cheese could use a little work though. Maybe an addition of a sharp cheese to add a little more bite will do the trick. Right now, the flavor is mild and lacks that salty kick you expect from a good baked mac n cheese. Beer prices are around $6 on a Tuesday night, which is also what you should expect to pay for their nachos and mac n cheese apps. There's a good amount of seating but the men's restroom is a veritable death trap. You've been warned...

My first time here was not what I thought it would be. I went with a friend who comes here very often and my SO. -- Once she dropped off our drinks I decided to order some light food, I ordered chicken fingers with fries, Simply right? After waiting 30 mins for her to actually pay attention to me I asked for the status of my food, she told me it should be out shortly. She comes back after a few minutes and tells me that the "Cooks lost the ticket order", which sounds like a load of shit because cooks don't just lose the ticket. The orders are put on a PC screen in the kitchen. Another 20-25 mins pass and she finally brings the food. I've never seen worse looking chicken in my life, McDonald's chicken looks better. The chicken was burnt, it looked like they deep fried it in super high temp and rushed it over to my table. I ended up having her remove it from my bill because I wasn't going to eat/pay for that. I think if she would of told me "I'm sorry, I forgot to put in your order" I wouldn't have been so upset about the situation. I worked in restaurants a long time so I'm guilty of doing that myself. The only positive thing that came out of all of this was that when I went to go pay for my drink she said it was on the house for the delay of my food.Hopefully when I stop by next time they have people who know how to do their job.

I wanted to review this place before but waited until I came as a 'civvie. Hands down and by far the best Irish Pub in SoFla. Is it owned by an Irishman? Why, yes it is! No posers here! So you know the Guinness is cold, the food hot and the futbol and rugby abundant on the TVs. The owner David is always making sure his patrons are happy.. and like I said how CAN you go wrong with cold Guinness? Yes, I am a fan. The food is 100% authentic with no 'American' twist. I have had the Shepherds Pie, Bangers n Mash, its all good! I need to try the Irish Stew George is raving about and some Fish n Chips, but so far everything I have had is delicious. On Saturday nights they have a DJ and the bar is hopping, its a great hangout if you want some good tunes and good beer. By the way the DJ IS GREAT!! I am curious as how Troy with the bad review could have been here 2 years ago, since they opened ONE year ago, but hey, to each his own drunken recollections! All in all, good food, good service and they can throw one HELL of an awesome St. Patty's day Party..

I've been dragged here a handful of times. And I have to admit it's not all that bad. Especially if your into bars and that type of atmosphere. So how did my night go? I came here and entered into a mob of dancing people, got yelled in the face "woo hoo" and then pushed my way through to the bar. The guy that yelled at me before came over for a chat, the people are definitely friendly. I was a bit disappointed that they don't have a drink menu so I wasn't sure what to order. Went to a movie, then came back afterwards. Things had completely changed, the environment had slowed down. Couples to the right, DJ to the left. A few dancers at this time, I guess the mob moved on and it was quieter. The food was good bar food, nice and greasy, not the place to go if you're on a diet. The waitress was great and recommended a delicious fruity cocktail that I loved. I'm sure I'll be back. (But for some reason I still prefer Sunset Tavern!)

I got good vibes when I entered, but what is up with all of the Irish pubs in Miami being architecturally schizophrenic? Really though, it felt as if there was an original theme that was started and then someone went through and decided a face lift was needed. As this is my first time here, I was not entirely certain that this was the case...but some additional thought is needed for the decor. Usually when I go to a restaurant, I wil order the appetizers first and then order the entrees after I have sampled a bit of what the restaurant has to offer. This night, though, I was famished and wanted my food as quickly as possible. The first thing I did was check for my Bangers and Mash. It is not a true Irish Pub without Bangers and Mash. I was quite happy to find and order this dish. On our menu for a party of three was: Hot wings Potato skins Bangers and mash (onions, gravy, beans) Corned beef sliders and bar fries The waitress was nice, but a little ditzy...I think she auditioned for Hooters but wasn't accepted and so decided to reaudition for us tonight. She took the order and we immediately had our drinks. Within a few minutes our appetizers were on the table. I was somewhat surprised by the small portions -- is it possible they counted the people at the table and brought out two wings per person and one potato skin per person? It didn't really matter, though, the wings were lack luster -- at best -- with very little flavor or piquancy. The potato skins were much worse. I don't understand how potato skins could be so flavorless. My ire was beginning to rise because I had ordered entrees already and the appetizers were at best "Meh" in my opinion. As I continued to grimace over our first food, our entrees arrived. The smell was so good. I was quite a bit apprehensive due to the appetizers, but took a big chunk of the bangers and was delighted with the flavor. Fresh mashed potatoes and good bangers danced in my mouth. I tried some of the gravy -- it was fresh! Yes, I was loving this dish. I tried the onions and the beans -- both were good. The onions had actually been sauted to the point of being fully cooked AND soft. Not wanting to miss anything, I tried one of the corned beef sliders. While the composition of the slider (it was on an odd Hawaiian roll with saurkraut and thousand island dressing) was somewhat average, the taste of the corned beef by itself was superb. It had a nice full flavor that most places cannot get when cooking the slab of beef. I removed the extraneous elements from the corned beef and had another bite. There was a veritable orgy in my mouth. I figured there was no better time to try the fries since they couldn't be that bad. I love fresh fries, and these were good. Add some of the brown gravy on them and the orgy in my mouth was kicked up a notch. Those wings and potato skins were all but forgotten. I am rather glad that I didn't order in my usual manner. Had I done so, I would never have ordered the entrees. I can definitely return for the bangers and mash and I will definitely try the corned beef and cabbage (if it is on the menu). I don't think I will get anymore of the appetizers.

Dear Irish Times, Just when we needed a good fixin' of some good, souled, Irish food, there was you! BF and I had a date afternoon on Sunday and decided to come sit in the IT and have some grub. It was nice and quiet, just a couple other people there. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the silence. There was golf playing on the big screen and the BF sat down to watch. Our one disappointment is that they were out of Bangers... So that being said, there were a couple of dishes out of commission. BUT!!! NO worries. There were still all my favorites on the menu. I immediately told the BF not to fret because we were going to start off with the BEST steamed mussels EVER! I always get them with the white wine garlic butter sauce. OMG Can I just let everyone know how heavenly this sauce is?!?! We pretty much dipped ALL of our food into it. We also ordered the Sheppard's Pie and some Mac-n-Cheese. All of that went well with the sauce. :) Hehehehe Creative, aren't we?! The Sheppard's Pie was done just right. I enjoyed it and our meal was extremely filling. The mac & cheese was great! Could have been a bit cheesier, but it was delish just the way it was. Oh, and it came with my favorite french fries, which I of course dipped in the honey mustard sauce that I asked for. :) So all together, we had an amazing assortment of my favorites. It was a great meal and we had a great time. I washed mine down with a Newcastle, while the BF opted for a Smithwicks. Mmmm Mmmm Good! Thank you Irish Times for a great, hearty meal. We definitely did some walking around after that!!! MUCH Love, SabrinaAnna*

We stopped in here because it's within walking distance of our place and wanted a beer. It was dead inside and the bartender was awful. The beer selection was limited (only presidente, pear cider, and bud light on tap) and outrageously priced even for happy hour. The bartender barely even acknowledged us and served us after reluctantly coming to us after a few minutes. We decided to have only one beer since it was almost 30 minutes before she paid us any attention again. She was busy chatting with her friends the entire time and when she did speak to us it was as if she were annoyed. The name on our tag was Erika, so if you get her ... Good luck. For south Miami this is not worth your time. There are so many great bars just next door to choose from with such better selection, music, people, and service.

I just stumbled upon my notes about this place and decided it is about time that I sit down and write my review- As a fan of Irish beer, this place already has me at the door, I also like to get a bit more global perspective of the world of sports, and I can always come here and get my fix of international football leagues. But the most important part comes to the service. Now I happen to have some pretty cool inside information about the peeps that own and run this place, and I can tell you that their pour their heart into it. You could almost safely assume the same thing about all eating establishments, after all, it is a very tough business to be in- but the difference is that here it is evident. Consistently giving good service and serving good food with a cold Irish Brew - this is my slice of heaven in Miami paradise !! Life is good .. in the Irish Times.

The drinks are reasonable and the crowd is pretty good. There is this one bartender who always looks like hes going to beat me up and hold me for ransom. Maybe send my parents my finger nails. He makes great drinks though. Love coming here!

Nice atmosphere, good food, great location and friends. How does this get better? Walking in to the Rolling Stones playing on the juke box. They didn't over theme the place; it is first and foremost a bar. It just has little touches that make it feel Irish. The food that my friends and I tried: The mussels were really good & garlicy. The french fries weren't really very french. They were more like potato sticks. Who has more right to the potato than the Irish? On that note, the potato skins were really good too. And flippin' huge. Could have used some bacon pieces though. I'm currently pregnant so dunno about the drinks. Service was friendly and quick.

After all the reviews I read, I couldn't WAIT to go to The Irish Times! I honestly don't know why I hadn't been here before, this place is awesome! From the moment we walked in the service was awesome! We sat down and BOOM the waitress appeared, much like a genie, to take our order. We ordered the Irish Times beer, their own beer to be more clear. It was amazing. Although I wish they would've had Killians on tap because I really love Killians. Their beer made up for it, however. We ordered a series of appetizers. The onion rings, which, as per my friend Holly "are not too greasy and have just the right amount of crispiness". She was right. We all agreed, they were probably the best onion rings we had ever tasted. We also ordered the fries with the curry dipping sauce. Awesome fries! We also had the potato skins which were delicious! The last thing we had were the chicken sliders. These were good, but I wish the chicken would've been grilled instead of fried. Nonetheless, the portions were huge and easily fed three of us. I loved the decor and feel of the place. So casual and just perfect for hanging out and drinking some beers with friends. We really enjoyed the music as well. I cannot wait to come back here again.

The Irish Times is a fairly new spot, so it doesn't have that old bar smell, which is a good thing! Trust me on this : ) They've got a good selection of beer and a VERY good selection of Irish grub on the menu. Right away I was impressed with the Irish sausage. The sweet/savory flavor just jumped right out at me. AND... the bar is actually run by a real Irish couple. 'No way, Marcos!' "Way, Dude... way"

This defines The Irish Times. If you're in the biz, come on in. If you're not, it's not for you. Every time I've been there, it sounds like a good idea, and then once I'm inside I'm like why did we come here? The food is actually really good and it's a great place to watch soccer during the world cup or Premier League, but for bar hopping, you don't want to order a second drink.

This place is hit or miss. Great to see soccer games and at happy hour, like the touchtunes jukebox, but crappy DJs at night. The food used to be pretty good, last couple of times it was either cold or bland. The bartenders are pretty bad though aside from poor service, they are also slow and not very knowledgeable, one time one had to ask what was in a black and tan. Wouldn't stay here for more than a beer or two.

Saturday night in South Miami, it's a bit late so you feel the tummy grumbling and remember the Irish Times has great fries. Sadly, that may be all they have left. I am not one to update reviews but last night during the SOMI Pub Crawl this place actually managed to make me cranky! We walk in and discover a misplaced dj on the floor. Not misplaced because we didn't want to jam to some tunes, but misplaced because he seemed to think he was auditioning for the lead spot during Miami's Ultra festivities. The guy was pumping tiki tiki music to it's last possible decibel. We actually tried to sabatoge the speaker closest to us, but alas we were unsuccessful. As if the horrendous musical choices weren't bad enough, it took our waitress no lie, like fifteen minutes to come up to us. I even tried to order food at the bar and was told to go sit down that my waitress was coming right over. There go my attempts to try and make a bad situation better. I finally got my burger, it was overcooked but after thirty minutes I didn't care anymore. The fries, thank God, still managed to taste as they should. I really do love the fries here, I just don't know that I would subject myself to this place and go back for them. We paid and literally ran out of there! I woke up this morning happy to find out that no permanent ear damage was done. Another one bites the dust - for me, the Irish Times is no more.

I come here often with a group of friends to just sit at the bar and drink, its that kind of place for us, unfortunately the music is more nightclub than pub but hey, you can always go hang out outside since they have a nice stack of plastic cups ready to go near the door... Place gets really crowded Friday/Saturday nights as one would expect but other nights its a lot more relaxed group (unless a group of UM students invade... sigh) Don't usually order food but the sliders are quite good, never been disappointed with them...

So I heard about the management changes last month and I decided to head back. Originally I would have given the Irish Times 3.5 stars, but after last night, I must do it the justice it deserves and rate it a 5. The turn-around is easily noted by the caring staff and manager. They made sure everyone was looked after even though the place was crowded. As always, the food was superb - much better than any other "bar" food I have ever eaten. And they have Woodchuck on tap; my favorite with a Rueben. The Irish Times has made it to my #1 bar in South Miami list.

This place is awesome! I can't wait until they start serving "real irish breakfast" during futbol season. that is going to be great. The Bangers N Mash = phenomenal Irish Stew = incredible Strongbow Cider = yum A really cool place. What more can i say?

Arrived a little after midnight and this was the only bar in South Miami with room to breathe. Yes, the music was loud but it was saturday night and of course they are gonna play party music. The DJ and the fact that I could sit & stand comfortably in this bar were the two main reasons to why we stayed. $3 Sam Adams $4 Yuenglings I'm down. & the fries were good too.

it's the kinda place where "everybody knows your name" and irish eyes are smiling because of the FISH AND CHIPS! PS don't get so pixillated that your fish and chips are spirited away by wee leprechauns!

3.5 stars We went recently for lunch on a very quiet afternoon and had an enjoyable experience. First off, service, when present was professional, courteous an mostly efficient. Sometimes there was a bit of a lull For instance, we ordered curry sauce with our fries. The curry sauce came when we were almost done with our fries. However, we got comped a new batch of fries. Some would say that's almost as good as getting everything together, others would say that's even better. If there's a third group, I don't care for you. Beers were buy one get one, which I did not know. Very pleased with that. Yep. I was more pleased that when I ordered some unknown beer on tap and I found out I didn't know it because it was cider they took care of it, no hard feelings. That's what service is about. The client makes a mistake, the proprietor takes notice and makes amends to make sure said client enjoys their experience. The kid's meal came out before everyone else's as well. Fish and chips were pretty good, Loved my beef stew. Wish I could say the same thing about the corned beef & cabbage, but I never got to taste it. Overall this place is worth frequenting if you're ever in the area.

i wish i had a four and a half button....only because with this place its def. the luck of the draw in terms of what crowed you will encounter here any given day of the week..... ....the service is always awckward yet since its where most people end up twards the end of a night in south miami i guess no one notices ...their beer selection though not my personal favorite isnt half bad ,..but besides the great quotes all over the walls (yes u must go around reading them) their food is pretty amazing....i tend to crave their mac and cheese after a crazy drinking binge at cervezas..... ....but its def one of the spots i recomend people to end up at after they have already started their night....you will find all sorts of people here and from all parts of town which makes it all the more interesting when everyones not sober and making friends.....i know iv had many great night endings here ;0)

This is one of my favorite eateries in Miami. I have had the Bangers & Mash, which is 2-3 sausages, with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, and an amazing gravy to drizzle over everything. The curry fries are a must try for anyone who lives in Miami, amazing. My wife has ordered the Fish and Chips, which is a crispy huge plank of fish, perfectly fried. Homepage tarter sauce that I dunk my fries into. If my wife orders the fish we get a side of the curry sauce to dunk her fries into. The bartenders and staff are very nice and the place is very comfortable. I have noticed many people who seem to be regulars. Irish times seems to really have brought the Pub culture to Miami.

LOVE IT! This is a really cool place to grab a drink or a yummy bite. They are open very late and offer a pretty good menu even late night (until 4am, I believe). I just can't believe I hadn't been here sooner. I was there on Wednesday which happened to be ladies' night and had some excellent Margaritas. The bartenders were friendly and the food was great!! I think The Irish Times may just be my new go-to place.

Went here so excited and ended up in disappointment. I went with my madre, and boyfriend for a late night dinner. They have a nice Irish setup so that was cool. When we walked in, no one bothered to pay attention to us. We've never been there before so we didn't know if we had to wait to be seated or not, any ways we went to the bartender and asked... We get a table, and the server takes forever to take our drink order, and when she finally does she has an attitude. They have a great beer selection, and the food is mediocre. I had the ''salmon of knowledge" it was a pretty small piece of fish loaded with peas and carrots which you can tell the veggies were not fresh and came from a can. The other guys got the fish and chips, and they said it was "okay." The server did ask us if we were doing okay which was good. The awkward thing about this place is that they have a jukebox that is right in between two tables, so in order to put money in it you have to "interrupt" the other guests meal. We happened to sit next to it and while trying to have a conversation people would come up and get in your face to start a conversation. I think that is pretty rude. & they need to find a new place to put that jukebox. That night it was really cold and they had the doors wide open and the fans on full speed, so it was colder inside than out. I will not come back for dinner, but I will try out this place again for lunch.

Been here in the past and had been disappointed but had heard great things about it and decided to give it another go. Showed up with friends on a Friday night. Granted, it was quite early (10pm) so the place wasn't jumping yet. Service was fast , had the playoffs and good music on. Love the digital jukebox. For $1 you get the option of 2 songs to play in the order the machine received or you get your one song to play, right away. If you opt for the second choice, make sure you don't choose something lame for a bar like a Robin Thicke slow jam but more of a singalong Journey tune. Great Irish beer selection and drink prices are sooo reasonable -you can get a pint of Guiness for $6.50 and a normal drink, like a rum and coke goes for about the same and it's in a nice tall glass, not in a mini one. They also have happy hour during the week (2for1) I believe which is great! just gotta check out the times... The patrons are just as easy-going and relaxed as the place. It did get packed around midnight but you were still able to hold a conversation and the service was still good even during the peak hours. Didn't eat there but the food looked yummy! They have this chocolate dessert that comes with ice cream but watch out- the ice cream is cold (this is what the waiter told the lady who ordered it). I snickered. Overall, great times to be had at Irish Times without breaking out the piggy bank!!!

Good place to have some drinks and hang out with a bar that feels like it would be out of the show 'its always sunny in Philadelphia' depending in the nights its not so crowded. Its weird they didn't have Guinness on tap well, tried some food and it wasn't bad typical "pub" food.

Irish Time I really, really want to like you. Unfortunately, you left me out to dry last night. I'm giving a 2-star. I thought of a 3 just for the setting but I really can't do that. It would be unfair to those relying on these reviews to make decisions. After finding a spot in the nearby garage and NOT paying because both machines were being held up by dummies who couldn't figure out how it worked, we made our way into the pub. Both front doors were propped open last night which I thought was inappropriate on a cold evening. Everybody in the place was obviously cold. I mentioned to one of the servers that they should shut the doors. She ignored me. I recalled reading a review here where it said "they should pay attention to their customers." Ordered a couple black and tans from a server that seemed to be in the weeds although there were only a few tables occupied. Plus she just wasn't really that friendly. Black and tans show up and there is no black and no tan. It's all mixed up. I take a couple swigs and am disappointed. Can't find the server. I go to the bar and find her. "Oh well we don't have Bass so it doesn't layer." Ummm...you know what they say about trying to bullshit a bullshitter? Well, that's me. I return to the table dismayed. A few minutes later one of the guy's behind the bar brings me a proper B&T and apologizes. I told him he needs to teach the young woman how to do it. After all, it's an Irish bar. Order the fish & chips and the shepherd's pie. We're sitting across from the bathroom with a broken door closer. Everytime somebody goes in then leaves, we are staring at the toilet. No go. I tell the server we're moving to the bar. She says, "well technically you're supposed to close out your tab with me." Keep in mind, we have had one beer each and have not received our food. I say, "okay, bring the tab to the bar and I'll settle it." We move to the bar. No welcome greeting from the bartender. She's too busy on the Blackberry. A few minutes later the food arrives. The original server tells the bartender, "can you get them some salt and pepper and ketchup" then leaves. The bartender, after she's done on the Blackberry says, "what was it you guys needed." I finish my beer but the bartender doesn't notice. I look around the bar and I see a couple other empty glasses. I've waited tables and I've tended bar in some busy joints. I don't care how busy you are, which they weren't, you are ALWAYS looking to fill empty glasses. That's how you make your money. Not this barkeep. Anyway, we finish. Nobody asks if we want anything else. I flag down the original waitress who takes the credit card. I'm kicking myself in the ass now because I'm a sucker and I left her 15%. That's wrong I know. As for pricing, I thought both entrees were a little pricey for what you got. Oh, the food. Fish & Chips were not that great. I'm pretty sure they don't batter their own fish. This is a frozen product. Shepherd's pie was made with some pretty tasteless ground beef, no lamb that I could see. Hell, give me some mutton if you must. I don't care. Just make it with fresh mashed potatoes and fresh veggies and I'm happy. It was obvious the pie was made from canned and frozen ingredients. I'll try you again IT but I won't make a special trip.

This was one of our self-created South Miami Bar hopping tour stops last night. We stopped in for a cold one and an appetizer. The beers were great, the potato skins were tasty (althugh my husbands cousin from Spain found them interesting bc they don't eat the skin of the potato over there...who knew?!), and the service was great. The music they were playing was fun too and for a Sunday night it was actually pretty full. Irish times continues to be a staple in my book :)

Woo Sooo happy i was able to finally able to go out to irish times. My friend's sister practically lives here, and since he and i had never been we decided to go and invite some friends. I was DD so i didn't get to enjoy much alcohol, but i enjoyed a Killians, and my friend enjoyed a little bit of everything else. As for food I had a bite of the chicken tenders, some fries and a slider, all so very good. The only thing that was odd was our server who was very attentive in the beginning, disappeared half way through. After a long while we started wondering and then another server came by asking if we needed and help and who our server was. We told her and told us that she wouldnt be coming back since she smashed her hand earlier in the evening! we all hope she's ok but wish they would have told us sooner. And i guess because of the change of server our bills were all mixed up. Only 2 single toilet restrooms, which can become problematic if you hold it too long since i did see lines forming. All that aside i had a great time with my friends at Irish times. I guess thats what its all about right? I def will be going back

Okay...it's time I update my review....:) I was hesitant about adding this place on my south miami pub crawl but since I got a tip about calling ahead, I went for it. I don't remember exactly who I spoke with on the phone, but he was very friendly and accomdating. He mentioned that they had kind of switched hands with a lot of the staff and higher up people (IDK know recent this was...) so I felt a bit better. And no, I did NOT mention the Ketchup incident or the fact that I was a yelper! When our group arrived (ahead of me) the middle part was set up for us with some appetizers and the servers knew we were getting the in the biz discount - 20% off! All the staff was very kind and this visit alone raised my star count. BUT...I went once again (I am so eating my first review, haha!) with some friends for my roommate's going away 'party'. Service was good, once again. We kept adding more chairs and she didn't seem to mind. After the party got started and we were dancing, clumsy me knocked a drink out of another girl's hand and actually broke the glass!! I went to the bar to order the girl another drink and the bartender said I didn't have to pay for it... yay!! SOO since I've had two very successful trips back to the Irish Times and I think it's safe to say I enjoy this place and will add it to my list of good places in sunset place! :)

I've been here a few times- mainly because it's open after other places in south miami close. The drinks are overpriced and the staff is slooow. I wouldn't recommend getting any mixed drinks on special because my experience is they are disgusting (heavy on syrup-light on alcohol). Otherwise the music is alright (usually rock, sometimes a little hip hop) and the crowd is o.k... note: the fries are good

Ok. My first experience here at The Irish Times Pub wasn't really all that impressive. There were decent drink specials and there were plenty of seats available when we arrived, but the service wasn't really all that. First, it took FOREVER to get the bar tender's attention, and there weren't that many people at the bar and then she got my order mixed up with someone elses. Lastly she kept "forgetting" to bring me the check when I asked for it and then... to top it all off.. though not entirely her fault... the credit card machines were being rebooted or something so she couldnt run my card for a good 40 minutes. I know that wasnt her fault... but I had the cash on me and if she had bothered to tell me about the machines being down I would have simply paid in cash to avoid the wait. Instead she left my group in the dark about what exactly was going on untul we were quite agitated and by then the systems were all restored. I dont know that I'll go back here anytime soon. I found that tha crowd was laid back and the atmosphere was cool but honestly... there are other bars that have better service and drink specials. To be honest they dont have anything that makes them stick out from your average pub.

The Irish Times Ah, what can be said about The Irish Times In so little space, with such a few rhymes? Turn eastward on Sunset, right from US-1 Park in the big garage, cross the street, you're done. Use the corner entrance to lurk through the vibe You'll have walked by windows and seen who's inside. If Simon's there, he'll be the first to say hi, And offer a Car Bomb with sparks in his eye. Perhaps sexy Erika will flash you a smile, "How you doing, baby? Just sit for a while" Or one of the Davids will be there that night, A Snakebite or Jaeger will start the night right. The jukebox be jammin all night at full tilt. And Higgy may saunter in wearing a kilt, And Rhino will treat you like you were a king. The trident on the wall's a family thing. The food is outstanding. Do check out the menu. Better than expected out of a bar venue. Try the mini-burgers or the chicken curry, If portion's important, then you mustn't worry. For the sports enthusiasts, as Guiness's decanting, From rugby to football they will not leave wanting. Selectively placed are flat screens galore, Just lift up your eyes to check out the score. It's one of those places of idyllic feel, Where moods are relaxed, and people are real. Where Captain, the bouncer, is quick to say "howdy" And kick your arse out if you get too rowdy. Within a few weeks, you'll know well the game And come to the place where all know your name. With a 5 a.m. license, it's a late-night hit, You asked for my review, and this has been it.

Besides the fact the beer is good here. Besides the fact the patrons are down to earth. Besides the fact the people who come are friendly. Besides the fact the food isn't half-bad. AND besides the fact they have a nice jukebox, I hate this place. By that I mean I like it.

I thank Maria for taking me in here! The salad was bigger than I expected and couldn't finish it.. lol, I'll think twice about the salad before ordering anything else because I felt bad for not taking it home. I did, though, have to take the Irish Times platter to go, which was a definite great choice (a whole bunch on a plate)! Maria showed me what were on the TV's, which I wasn't paying attention at first and realized that they were from Ireland or Britain. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. I'm really mad at myself for not remembering her name now, but she's the one with the reddish hair (I don't think she's the only one?). I also ordered two Banana vodka drinks along while eating. Each time before she brought the drinks, she asked me if it was too strong or had any strangeness at all. That's what I call, a good communication between the person in the restaurant business and the customer. She was totally cool about it! I almost forgot my take home dinner when Maria and I were going back into the garage. She said, "Go back and it will be there. Trust me." I went with her decision, and dragged myself back in there. It was there waiting for me. I thanked our waitress and left again the restaurant with a big smile on my face. :)

What can I say other than if you are looking for an authentic Irish Pub don't head to The Irish Times. We stopped by one Thursday night looking to grab a beer and relax and what we found was a bar that looked manufactured and lacked any authenticity as if it was trying to look like an Irish Pub. This is a type of suburbia mass produced bar that can be found more readily in Dublin, Ohio than Dublin, Ireland. Now this might seem trivial but when your bar looks like its trying to be Irish and Jameson isn't served in the place then something is very wrong. The staff seemed uninterested in working, the bartender was nice enough, although not very attentive, but it was definitely a one beer and out experience. Definitely better spots for a pint in Sunset Place

Yes. Yes, yes yes, ooooohhhh yes... foodgazms all around. Starting with the "house beer" (alas, already forgot the name, to come in review update), light with a pleasantly bitter kick. Never had BangersnMash before, what a clever invention! Steamed mussels were slurpingly good. Fishnchips were AMAAAAZING! Mr Lalotto, being a fried fish snob, considers this the best he's tasted outside the house. A great pub feeling presides, transporting you far from Miami's Sunset Drive with no air fare required. Need I say more?

This is a real Irish pub! Great atmosphere and you seat yourself. The service is always phenomenal and I always get cheeky waitresses that make me laugh. I just really like being here because it's not at all pretentious and makes me feel at home. And I love me some New Castle, of which they have an abundance and that makes me happy! But honestly, all those other things seem not to matter after you take a bite into the crispiest piece of fish you've ever had. Their fish and chips are hands down the best I've had in my life. They also have an AMAZING Shepard's pie and their sliders... oh man, is it lunch time yet? The food is just all around amazing! I've never had a dish I didn't love and I can never decide what to get because I know everything will be great!

Want the ambiance of a genuine Euro pub? Then lads you've gotta check out Irish Times. As soon you set foot into this 'oh so cool little pub' you will all together forget you are in South Miami. Dim lights, dark wood galore, and bartender with foreign accent are included. Generous portions packed with flavor. Their Shepherds Pie is a must have, and it's big enough to share. Great selection of beers...they had me at Magners and Strongbow!! Sticking true to their Euro style, service is not their forte. On the bright side, if you're looking for a hangout sans annoying waiters, this is your pot of gold. That was cheesy I know, but I couldn't help my self :) Oh yeah, they're also open until 4 am. Always good to know.

I was here back in August with a few other Yelpers for a get-together (back before Miami had a CM and before we had actual Yelp Events) and I thought this place was awesome! First, they had proper cider on tap (Torrey was also thrilled that they had Smithwick's). Second, they set out several of their dishes for us to try that night, and everything was delicious! That being said, I wanted to wait and review this place after I'd been here on a typical night. On Saturday night I was meeting up with some friends and I decided to grab a bite at Irish Times on the way. I was lucky enough to find an open meter a few blocks away, otherwise the best option is to park in the garage almost directly across the street for a flat fee of $7. The Irish Times was full when I arrived, but not packed. I found an open seat at the side of the bar and the bartender was there within seconds to ask what I wanted. The service was fast, both food and drink were excellent, and I really like the feel of this place. When you're inside it really does feel like you're in a proper Irish Pub with the pillars covered in grey stone, the fireplace, the woodwork and decor, the quotes written along the walls, etc. It doesn't look like they spared much expense on the A/V system, either, with several plasma screen TVs, an area for a DJ, and a good sound system. While I was here they had a few different college football games on the screens, and a mix of music from classic rock from the jukebox to traditional Irish music from the iPod behind the bar. There was a good mix of patrons from college-aged groups to older couples and everything in between. The service was good, in fact I saw one bartender offer a few gulps of beer for free to 1 patron who was trying to decide what he wanted to order. In all, a great place to drink, eat, catch a game or just hang out with friends and have a few pints. Also a good place to find comfort foods like Irish stew, bangers & mash, fish & chips and shepherd's pie. If I lived in this immediate neighborhood, I'd be here often. I had 2 pints of cider, shepherd's pie, and my bill was $27 before tip. That being said, according to the menu they do have happy hour from 4-7 p.m. where they offer 2 for 1 drinks and most appetizers are 1/2 price.

I like this place for a few reasons: - It's close to my crib in South Miami so that's means I can take a cab. - They have Smithwicks on tap which is one of favorite ales. - They have a Digital Juke box. As long as none of the Kendall thugs throw on the Reggaeton or Birdman garbage, Irish Times is a fun and clean place to get trashed!

So, a cuban, a brazilian, a colombian, and an argentine walk into this irish pub... and they get served drinks that they love by a server who is amazingly hot and funny (yea, guys... they're out there). They all have a great time and in the end their bill was beyond reasonable. No, I swear there is no punch line. This place is no joke. It's amazing. I loved it!! They had great quotes all over the walls, they had a nice menu and they had great quotes on the wall. Beware: their soup d'jour runs out before the night shift because it's THAT good!! Best things about this place is that it's open from 11:30 until 5am seven days a week. Yes, everyday. So, if you're looking for a good place to go have a drink and bite at night this is it!! The only thing that was missing was Gerard Butler behind the bar serving the drinks. But, you can't have it all, can you? My favorite quote from the bar: "The Irish ignore anything they can't drink or punch".

i finally made it!!! finally last night, after sleeping most of the afternoon, i finally made it to the irish times. the first thing i like about this place is that its pretty close to south miami's metro station which is awesome because i really hate to drive. me and my gf wanted to go to the movies but the movie we wanted to see was playing at 10,15pm and it was 8pm, so we had a little bit more than 2 hours to kill. so we walked in and it was kinda quiet; well, sunday night, a few other couples sitting around the tables. we were the only ones seating by the bar. service was very friendly, i had a glenfiddich on the rocks right away, my girl had a gin and we decided to try the steamed mussels. yum. good choice. dont really know how long it took to get out of the kitchen but you know that when youre with the right companion, time just flies... but the mussels were pretty good at a very fair price. theres like 6 flat tvs around the restaurant, oddly enough, all tuned into '60 minutes' so the bartender politely asked everyone if any of us was 'really watching this?' and this lady who was there with her husband got all vocal about it. she said, YES - I AM. ITS CALLED REALITY. THE WAR ON TERRORISM. the rest of the patrons kinda just looked elsewhere.. like, wow lady. get another drink? - my girl and i just kinda smiled at the bartender who only had good intentions when she asked about changing the channel to something more relaxed. so we killed the mussels and our first round of drinks. still hungry we ordered the bangers and mash and another round of drinks. by then, the cbs news loving lady and her husband were on their way out so tvs got tunned in to the red sox game and the music kicked in. it all started with 2pac followed by run dmc & aerosmith. the bangers and mash were delicious. we destroyed those in minutes. the sausages were awesome and the gravy too. grand total? 47$ without tip, not precisely cheap but we did have top shelf drinks... 4 in total, so thats pretty good. im curious about their breakfast, plus .. i also know there are soccer nights so i must come back and kick it!

This place is on point. Went there for a dolphin game. Had the calamari and the steamed mussells as recomended by the chef. I never had mussells before, but hese were excellent. Richard, the bar manager, was very helpful and will keep you entertained. He even told us who Bobby Sands was. This is as Irish as it gets, we loved it See you on St. Pattys

Num num num...goood beer, yummy food, fun staff. Banger n Mash...omg. Gimme more sausage!! (no blood sausage please - rasher?) I didn't know what to expect when I came in as far as the menu was concerned. We tried a few things - Irish breakfast (so much food, so delicious), fish and chips (yum!), bangers n mash (there are no words). We drank a bit.... we had some fun. Great atmosphere - there's actual IRISH peeps in there ;) and the staff is great. I love the furnishings in this restaurant, the lights are low, the people are friendly. If you go early, you'll get pretty much any table you'd like and if you go later, it's standing room only but very lively and worth the squish. Don't for get to read the quotes...my favorite - "the Irish ignore anything they can't drink" it may also say eat...but... I think we'll go there this weekend!!

Went there post-loud-music Splitsville...and wondered how come I haven't been there yet! Walked right in...no ID check, maybe I just look old. But whatev! Friday night around 12ish, wasn't too crazy. Got beers quick and found a spot around the pillar to chill. Music was good...good looking 20 somethings who are chill. Definitely a chill place. I only had the cider there...no food. Will definitely check out the food next time! Tip-bits: Either park on the street or if you are already in Sunset Place, just walk over! Loud loud music in the toilet Cool blackboard painted walls in the bathrooms If you need to book it for an event, call them! They are so willing to work with you..and want to make sure they have enough staff to wait you!

Not a dive bar, despite the listing as one. Seems to be changing, and i liked it the way it was. Didn't try the food this time, but 3/4 of the taps were empty. Thankfully they had Long Hammer IPA still on tap. In the past the food was awesome, will have to show up again for lunch or dinner. 4 o'clock on a Friday and it was empty? Kinda weird. I'll go back next time i make the trek to the mainland. Keep your options.

Great place to go hang out with friends and have a few drinks. I've never eaten there personally, but I hear the appetizers are pretty great. The prices are very reasonable and the music is very enjoyable; if you don't like it, you can pay to change the Juke Box selection. Just one suggestion: Watch out for waitresses with attitude and weird occurrences in the bathrooms... I prefer to go during the weekdays just beacuse Fridays and Saturdays in S. Miami get packed. The parking garage is great, but not when they have a $7 flat rate enforced (Friday and Sat evening). Try to stick to Thursday evenin

It's an ok place to get drinks. Went Friday night around 8. They have some booths. Don't go for the food. Its 'pub' food but i think its all frozen and fried. The app sampler had been frozen and things were cold on the inside. The sliders were 'ok'. The music was really loud which was odd and annoying for the place since it was not that full. The place felt very random. The waitress was very nice and brought the drinks fast which was necessary.

The Irish Times is as good as gold and should have it's own rainbow. SmithWicks, the best Bangers and Mash and a cool bar. Having tried a few of their dishes, Irish food lovers will be able to tell that a great effort has been made to make their food traditional and very tasty. Cannot wait for the Irish Breakfast! Summary: Cold Beer, Fantastic Food, Cool People, Pleasant Atmosphere and a Great Location

I normally try to stay away from here when I go around to bars in South Miami just for the fact that it attracts an older crowd. Although I came here on Saturday and gained a new respect for Irish Times. They had $7 Jameson and ginger and $3 Sam Adams specials. I guess I am more a fan of when its a full on bar and not a restaurant. I just wish you could smoke inside, most people flock to the front outside here to smoke but since its south miami you need to put your drink into plastic which gets annoying.

My husband and I came here to meet with family to celebrate a birthday and we ended up having a great time. However, the service was less than great. There were only two waitress serving tables so we were constantly trying to flag down the poor girl that was our waitress. The food was decent but the drink specials were great. 2 for 1 drink specials until 9pm. Can't beat that.

Met up with a buddy here the other night after work and had a great experience. We just hung out at the bar....which I prefer so much more over getting a table...and had some drinks and grub. He was having some Jameson on the rocks which was reasonably priced at about $6 a glass and I was throwing back some good ol' Irish Ale....Smithwicks. If you've never had....get it....you can thank me later. I had the sliders and the were awesome. Perfectly cooked with some sauteed onions and cheese on them...served with a cornicopia of fries. I couldn't even finish it...even though I tried forcing myself to.

I went here on a whim and after leaving I will definitely be going back. The service was excellent and the bartender even kept coming by to check to make sure our drinks were ok. I ordered the fish and chips which were awesome(though there could have been more chips) the onion rings were also very good. My wife ordered a Irish Ruben which she also thought was delicious. I think I may have only had fish and chips one other place that was better and since that's in Michigan well then it doesn't matter. Guiness is a must when you go(of course). The only thing I wish was that there would have been a few more Irish items on the menu. That may sound strange and you may ask what is good Irish food but after having been to a few Irish pubs there is some really good Irish dishes that could add to the menu... That being said you should really go check this place out if you want excellent service, tasty food, and a great atmosphere and lest I forget at a reasonable price.

Certainly a fun place for late-night drinks. Last stop on a Sunset/South Miami pub crawl with some coworkers. Pre-Irish Times, I was definitely not drunk, though a bit tipsy. ..Post-Irish Times, I managed to not only fall over twice but also lost my shoes along the way. So I had a good time here, apparently.. A few Jameson on the rocks, and if I do recall (ok I confess, I don't really) delicious fries..a recipe for a good night.

Our experience was great until the end. Food was good, the server took great care of us the entire time. As we were getting ready to leave, one of the managers began giving me and my date a hard time. I didnt appreciate the way he was speaking to me and I told him so. Then he tells another employee to call the police and tell them that I have a knife. Wow. I couldnt believe what I just heard. Thats not the kind of place that I will ever return to. And can you believe it was a manager that made that statement. I dont know who hires these people. Maybe it would be a nice place to go, if that manager wasnt working. I wont return to find out. And I give them a 2 star rating because the server was great, otherwise it would be 1 star.

I came with a crew of hungry yelpers after watching a movie at Sunset Place. The place was fairly empty which so we were able to grab four tables together and start making some noise. chatter chatter everywhere, the waitress took our order of drinks. I once again had the house chardonnay - I'm not much for wine, but I like it here. Undecided in what I'd have for dinner, I was in between the mac & cheese, or any of the three varieties of sliders. I let the waitress choose for me and surprise me. Emilio ordered the bangers and mash, and though he said they were good, he also said they weren't great, plus the serving size was a bit too small for him, as he ended up eating half my food. My food, which unfortunately, was the last plate to come out - :-( - even after other people who ordered after me were already past half their meal. This is really what's making this place loose a star -the waitress brought me the burger sliders - which were good - but it took for ever, and I was starving. Another bad note - everyone got their food in separate spurts (which I guess makes me getting my food last good, b/c I'm the type to wait for everyone to get their plate - I would have hated my food to get cold). In all the food was good, the service was - eh, okay - but the night with the yelpers over all was good. Which influences this restaurants rating to stay at 4 stars. Next time I come, good times and drinks only - where they never go wrong!

  • Ivan M.

disappointing - really limited menu, and even though they advertise 10 beers or so on tap, there were only 4 available, and they were all beers I wouldn't drink if it were the apocalypse. Skip it and go next door to Sunset Tavern.

Irish Pubs sometimes come with a dark & dirty atmosphere but this place is the exact opposite. Being in the heart of South Miami this Irish pub offers the delights and enjoyment of drinking with the sensibility and restraint of a regular family restaurant. I had the mini burgers and oh man was this something I had been searching for! Good mini burgers are so hard to find, the fries that acompany the meal are so beefy & perfectly seasoned. Only issue was, what's with the single toilet restroom?

Easily the best Irish pub in the South Miami / Coral Gables area. If you stop in for a pint, there is a good chance that you won't leave until you have drank many more.

this was my second visit to Irish Times and I'm really glad I gave it another try. the first time I went I was disappointed in the service (the food for the group came out at very staggered times) and the food (which was blander then I'd hoped). but when the yelpers suggested we go again after a movie, I said sure. we started with drinks and I decided to give the house brew, Wizzard, a try. it's a pale ale and is light and yummy and not too hoppy - perfect pairing with my meal. this time I figured I'd give an authentic dish a try, something they'd likely specialize in and be good at....can't go wrong with fish and chips right? right!! I was worried about portion size as it was kind of late...and was assured that it was a decent size, nothing too outlandish (ahem, you know who you are!). well, when the dish came out, what was on the plate resembled a lightly breaded and fried entire fish (!) larger then my forearm!! lucky for me it was absolutely delicious - although I couldn't eat it all - and the chips were tasty, as usual. everyone else really seemed to enjoy their food which included corned beef sliders, regular beef sliders, mac n' cheese and more. the service was not bad considering we had a party of 14 or so all together and redeemed the previous experience I had. no one graced us with a karaoke performance this time (despite many attempts to make it happen), but a good time was still had by all. I definitely see repeat visits here with yelpers in my future!

I hate to have to give The Irish Times a bad review, because I'm HUGE on irish pubs and the short supply in Miami makes me inclined to like the few irish gems even more, however I have to say I am disappointed with the service and lack of concern for customers. My friends and I placed two phone calls throughout the week to ensure that the Ireland game would be shown on the television at The Irish Times. One of my friends in particular is a die-hard fan and took the reins on the phone calls, because he wanted to be 100% certain he would get to watch the game, and he was assured both times over the phone by a Times employee that it would *definitely* be shown. Come to find out, our group (along with another set of irish students) were both mislead and the only place showing the match was all the way in South Beach. The other group actually spent at least $50 on a cab to get out there, while we were simply too frustrated to bother, let alone try the food at The Irish Times (though the reviews below seem to reach a consensus that it's good). It may sound stupid, but I think people can understand how frustrating it is to miss your favorite team after looking forward to it all week AND doing everything in your power to make sure the venue actually shows the game. Maybe one day I'll venture back here and try out the drinks/food/service under different circumstances, but for now I'm too bummed about my first experience.

Food is decent for their prices. I had the curry chips and although i thought they would be smothered, the sauce on the side served just fine. Their beer selection was nothing out of the ordinary but the service was really great, considering it was so busy.

ok so i went for the first time to this pub with a buddy on a sunday for happy hour, the place had a nice irish pub atmosphere. Once i got and sat at the bar i did my usual whats on tap lookout. I noticed a strange wizard on with a crow figurine on one of the beer taps. I told my buddy hey its gandalf so i decided to get it, but i wanst sure if i like it. The bartenders were very friendly and one of them gave me a cup to taste the beer before i ordered so i was already sold. I ordered about three rounds of beer and some appetizers and for some reason the bartenders didnt charge me and my buddy for one of the beer rounds. Overall I enjoyed this bar, because it has good atmosphere, friendly service, and i enjoyed my gandalf beer, i didnt give it 5 stars because i hate when bars dont have somewhere where you can put your feet when you sit at the bar its pretty annoying.

In a word, YUMMYYYYYYY!!! Went here on a Sunday at 6:00pm for an early supper. They had happy hour until 7:00pm with 2 for 1 drinks. That made me happy! The place was nearly empty, but after reading the reviews on here I did not let that deter us. The onion rings were good, especially with the dipping sauce. Not the best I've ever had but definitely good. I ordered Bangers and Mash. The best part was the Mash with gravy, so heavenly!! My date had the Shepard's Pie, which was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are good, not huge but definitely enough, and the prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food. Strange to have curry on the menu though. The ambiance is nice, clean, friendly... I would definitely go here again in a heartbeat! It's the perfect place for some late night dining, the food will make your alcohol filled tummy very happy!

I have been there twice since they opened (including their 1st night) and both times the service and food was dismal. I chalked up the 1st time to opening night hiccups, but the 2nd time it was the same staff and their attitude and service was almost worse than opening night. Our drink order basically never came , until I went and reminded the server and the bartender about it. The wrong food was delivered, and when the right food came, it was simply OK. I have minimal expectation for bar food, so this would normally be fine but combined with the extremely poor service, I could not wait to bolt from the place. The place was empty, so you cannot even blame a busy night. I absolutely love the location and the more relaxed atmosphere to Town and Jake's , so I was excited when it opened. I will still try it again as friends seem to want to meet there, but will be fed and possibly have had a drink before I arrive. They have a long way to go before being a lively neighborhood Pub.

A coworker and I decided to go here for lunch on St Patty's day. We had been here 2 years earlier for the same holiday and it was a horrible experience. We decided to give them a 2nd chance. Bad decision! The waitress came over and looked like she had just woken up. She was very vague and not very coherent. Maybe that explains why her shorts weren't completely on and we could see her yellow g-string. The menu was a xeroxed copy of a set menu - not their regular menu. They offered a corned beef braised in Guinness and served with cabbage & potatoes. We both ordered that. 30 minutes later we got corned beef sliced paper thin (perfect for a Reuben but not a dinner plate) and cabbage that was served cold and under cooked. The "potatoes"? Mashed potatoes, which were home made and good, but not what you'd expect. Where are the boiled potatoes!? Oh, and my friend's portion had a piece a of ground beef stuck to it. as in Sheppard's pie!!!! So, then, we ask if they have dessert. While our waitress went off to consult the stars, my companion had an epiphany that she'd have an Irish coffee. An acceptable save to an underwhelming lunch. Guess what? They don't have coffee. There was a machine that held several coffee pots (all filled with water), yet, they do not serve coffee. We will NEVER, EVER, try this place again!
